Never mind that I am so fucking old that I used to babysit for Simon. His blog is awesome, even though I don't really get all the references.

Brain

A hundred years from now, when they make the musical of your life, ala "Funny Girl" "Evita" and "Unsinkable Molly Brown", I will look down from the heavens, smile....and pee a little.

I will definitely have to look up this show. Are you saying they never travel anywhere really but just watch where they are going on a wall? I still love to travel and in fact in 2 months I leave for China. I am traveling more and more as long as my good health lets me. I am not yet ready to retire to the screen. However, the exercise part is something I struggle with too. I do go to the gym with a trainer twice a week for a half hour of resistance and weights. I used to walk every morning but since I had foot issues not so much now. It is sad for me as I loved looking at landscaping and inside people's homes at night. I really need to get back to that. I love your blogs as they always seem to be talking to me.

So I learned something new today....P9OX! I had never heard of it either. So I Googled it. So now I know and that's good in case it ever comes up which is doubtful in this retirement community we live in. Still, I like to know about stuff so thanks for that added bit of knowledge, Ann. And, for the record, I LOVE your personality!

Let me just say that I am supposed to be in week two of P90X, but since I can hardly walk anymore from lactic acid poisoning, I know that it is probably going to be more like P120X or even P180X for me. The 90 stands for how many days it should take to get through the entire 3 month program assuming you can work-out 6 days a week
I think tomorrow I will grab my coffee and check out that show you are talking about instead.

And I am not getting up from my chair to walk to the kitchen and make more coffee. What am I, an Olympic athlete?

From my desk I can see out my window to the street in front of my house. In the past twenty minutes, I have witnessed:

A college-age exchange student from Japan walking to the corner, carrying a large briefcase.

A ponytailed woman in a North Face down vest and lycra shorts alternating running steps with a sort of hop-hop thing during which she pumped her fists in the air.

My mail carrier pull up to my curbside mail box and get out of his truck to bring me an oversized package to my door.

Two happy children running to the school bus that awaits them in front of their house.

A Subaru Outback with skis, bicycles and canoe strapped to various parts of its experior, pulling out of my neighbor's driveway, the clickclickclickclick of its snow tires announcing ADVENTURE as it takes off.

Why do I even live in Oregon?

I haven't taken my daily hour-long walks to the river. Or even the five minute walk to the entrance of the state park. Or even gotten up from my chair to make a second cup of coffee. And I just figured that it was that way for everyone. You know, since I didn't see anyone in the park or at the river. Or in my kitchen.

Now, as it turns out, I have completely missed an entire wave of fitness.
