Never mind that I am so fucking old that I used to babysit for Simon. His blog is awesome, even though I don't really get all the references.

But...but you told me you LOVED the tuna noodle casserole I sent, Ann. You said you especially loved the way I crunched up the saltine crackers over the Velveeta cheese.

That line about the tofu scaring the other food in the fridge? The funniest thing I've ever read. Like everything you write, it's the truth behind it that makes it funny. After my mother died, my aunt warned us that the "brisket brigade" was about to descend on my father: the unattached women of a certain age all looking to console the grieving widower. Brisket with onions and carrots is kind of like the older, more conniving cousin of the TMNC.

Next you're going to complain about the green beans with mushroom soup and fried onion bits.

My husband's favorite meal its tuna noodle casserole. I refuse to cook it or eat it. I told him tuna from a can should never be served warm. I can't wait to show this post to him!

Oh. No. Did your maxi-pad really ride its way out of your skirt?!

Too funny Ann. Never given a casserole as a feel better meal. I am like you and want simple and lots of different things to make others and me feel better. This is so funny. Cracked me up all the way in Japan.

I was going to stop by with a well timed bottle of liquor.... (left anonymously on the doorstep of course so as not to make the recipients feel obligated) Let me know your drink of choice. No mas tuna!

Ever been to Tormentia? Perfectly grilled salmon tastes like TMNC mixed with straw there. I did go with a full time dweller of Tormentia for a spell. He was not from the burbs, mind you. Downtown Tormentia, in the heart of darkness. These days I try to just take the train through now and again to see how the other half lives....

Dr. Strangemom

Tormentia! Tormentia!
(I am singing that to the tune of "Tradition!")
I smell a new musical arriving on the scene. Why, Polly Pocket, you are a girl genius.
