Never mind that I am so fucking old that I used to babysit for Simon. His blog is awesome, even though I don't really get all the references.

Two thoughts about this one:

1. What if you DO have dead bunnies in your backyard? What's left? Total despair?

2. My friend Steve used to say you have to have an automatic car because what with your cigarette in one hand and your glass of scotch in the other, you really can't be expected to shift too.

Do bats in my bedroom count?

I attended a job workshop once (it was mandatory to get the CETA money -- remember CETA?) and we all had to go around the circle and tell our worst job experience. The winner was the woman who used to work at the animal shelter, who said, "There is nothing worse than killing puppies for a living." So there's another gratitude mantra to add to your list.

As long as I don't hear a rat running through the walls of my house. I started the morning with a laugh as I read your blog.

you go girl! glad to have you back! dead bunnies...bummer, can't say I've experienced that, but there is a neighborhood cat doing some biting of the children on our street...

This is so spectacularly topical for me. The bunny angle I mean. I seem to have dozens of live bunnies in my yard at the moment. It's Watership flipping Down around here. I guess eventually there will be some dead ones out there as well. I needed a good chuckle, and to count my blessings/bunnies. Thank you Ann

Do moles or other vermin count????? I suspect you might have some of those critters, i.e. squirrels, mice, rats etc.......any of those turning up dead?

Maybe I am missing the point of this post. Most dog bites are from the cute little cocker spaniel.....Adorable puppies....right?

Keep driving and call ahead to let us all know when you are out on the roads.

Great stuff Dr SM

Loved this, Ann. You are a master at creating relatable prose.

For all I know we are right to think that our own offenses should seem so much less heinous than the offenses of others.they are part of us and we must accept the good and bad in ourselves together.
